After a wonderful tour along the scenic coastal road passing through some of Athens most beautiful suburbs we arrive to Cape Sounio the southernmost point of the European mainland.
Cape Sounion is known because of the significant geographical location but also due to the ruins of the ancient temple of Poseidon the god of the sea in classical mythology.
The temple is perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea and built circa 440 BC.
The view from the temple is beautiful and if the atmosphere is clean you can see 7 islands. (5hrs duration)
